The Art of Tablescaping

It’s the holidays. Which means, it’s time for parties, and LOTS of them! You have probably heard a lot about tablescaping - simply put, it is the art of creating beautiful tables. When your guests enter your home, the table sets the tone, and gives your guests an idea of what is to come.

If there is one place that should be decorated, it is the table!

Simply put, I am sharing my tips and tricks for creating a beautiful table. After years of trial and error, I am finally getting the hang of this decor thing!

There are 5 major areas that you should focus on when creating your tablescapes:

First Bites

It’s a party. Most guests will arrive “fashionably late,” but there is bound to be a guest or two who show-up right on time. Have a spread of light bites that they can snack on until dinner is served. Here I have 2 types of brownies, cream cheese pinwheels, cheese and salami, chocolate covered oreos and salami and raspberries for a touch of nutrition.

A Fine Wine

I have bounced around from brand to brand, looking for the best new wine. This season, I was gifted with a few bottles from Mezza Corona, and I cannot stop raving about this wine! I loved their new sparkling rose, but I was most surprised by the chardonnay. I have NEVER enjoyed chardonnay, so I was shocked when we drank this bottle until the last drop. Add this brand to your list of favorites - it is worth the try!

Take these tips and create an AMAZING table for this season’s parties. Share your tablescapes with me on Instagram at @ellevincent , and whatever you do, don’t forget to enjoy your own parties. Don’t get too lost in the details that you don’t even get a plate of the food that you whipped up. And finally, don’t forget to have water for your guests - they cannot survive on wine alone!
