Holiday Dried Citrus Garland
I made a dried orange garland for the first time this year, and I love the beautiful. fragrant touch it has added to this year's tree! The more it dries, the more beautiful it gets. Check out how I made it, below!
1) Slice 3 oranges in 1/8 inch slices. Arrange the slices on a flat surface (like a cutting board), place a napkin over the orange slices and press down to absorb as much juice as possible from the slices.
2) Arrange the orange slices on a baking sheet, covered with parchment paper.
3) Place these in a 225 degree oven, and roast for 3-4 hours, turning the slices at least once per hour. Watch carefully, and rotate your baking sheet if they begin to burn.
4) Once the oranges are dried and slightly brown on the edges, remove from the oven. Allow the orange slices to cool and continue to dry out for between 2 and 24 hours. The drier the better!
5) Once dried, poke two holes, 1 inch apart, toward the top of each slice. Take kitchen twine or a thin rope and string the orange slices uniformly on the twine. Drape the finished garland on your tree and enjoy!
