Easy and Delicious: Steak Pita with Feta Ranch
Hello, my loves! I have a simple and extremely delicious recipe to share with you today! This is a lunch favorite of mine, and it's PACKED with flavor from the steak seasoning I use and an awesome sauce - FETA RANCH! Get all of the details below!!
For the steak, I am using a seasoning called Le Courage by Triangular Traded Spices. It really makes my steak shine in this recipe and creates the most delicious, flavorful crust on any meat - I definitely recommend their full line of spices. Order them here and use code EV10 for 10% off!
INGREDIENTS (serves 2)
1 Steak (I used a 8 oz. NY Strip Steak)
Le Courage Steak Seasoning + Salt and Pepper
5 Leaves of Romaine lettuce, sliced
1 Tomato, sliced
1 Red Onion, sliced
2 pitas or other wrap
FETA RANCH
1/2 cup of sour cream
1/4 cup of good quality mayonnaise ( I use Dukes)
1 tsp of fresh dill
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste (about 1 tsp each)
1/2 tsp dried parsley
1/2 cup of feta cheese
Juice of half a lemon
2 tbs milk (optional - used to make the dressing pourable)
COOKING THE PERFECT NY STRIP
1) Allow your steak to come to room temperature.
2) Pat your steak with a paper towel + make sure it is really dry. Season the steak liberally with Le Courage Steak Seasoning, salt and pepper on all sides.
3) Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Wait to add the oil until the skillet is hot. ( I use an oil that is a blend of olive and sunflower oils) Add 2 tbs of oil and wait 1-2 minutes for the oil to heat.
3) Place the steak in the hot oiled pan. Allow to cook, untouched for 4 minutes. Flip the steak and do the same to the opposite side. Then, flip the steak and allow the sides of the steak to cook as well (about a minute each.)
4) Remove the steak from the pan, and turn off the stove. Place the steak on a plate, and allow the steak to rest for 10 minutes before slicing it.
To create the feta ranch, add the ingredients to a food processor and blend until smooth.
Now, you are ready to create your pita sandwiches! First, wrap your pitas with foil and warm in a 300° F oven for 7 minutes. Then, create your pita sandwich by adding lettuce, tomato, onion and steak to your warmed pita. Top with your yummy feta ranch!
Serve with chips or fries, and some extra feta ranch, because it is TOO GOOD!
