Six D.O.G.S. - Athens, Greece
The flight to Greece was a long one, and the whole trip, I wondered what I would be doing while in Athens. We had nothing planned, but that is how I usually travel - a strict itinerary really ruins it for me. I first met up with my dear friend Archel, a fashion designer from Liberia, and she took me to the perfect place to set the tone for my time in Athens.
She told me about the amazing bar that we were walking to in Monastiraki, a famous shopping and restarant district in Athens. We walked down a plain, grey street, where all of the stores were closed (at 4pm in the afternoon.) The street looked completely dead, so I was shocked to see what was right beyond the entrance of this bar.
Six D.O.G.S is a natural, leafy green oasis in the middle of the concrete jungle, serving some of the most delicious drinks that I have seen at ANY bar. If you are looking for a place with a cool, laid back but trendy environemnt, this is it! The prices are really reasonable, the music selection was impeccable and this is my recommendation for the FIRST place that you visit in Athens. After hours of traveling, come here to take a load off, and soak in the fact that YOU ARE IN GREECE!
After I returned to America, I found out that Six D.O.G.S. is also a concert venue, and a pretty popular night club after hours. I also heard that the coffee is amazing here (all Greek coffee is really delicious!) But, I was thankful for the good vibes and delicious drinks I was able to enjoy during happy hour. Don't miss out on this place! It is hard to find, but well worth the journey.
